Summary. A fieldwalking survey over 6.9 ha of farmland to the east of Birch airfield recovered large quantities of Roman pottery, tile and building stone. Distribution plots suggest that the sites of at least two buildings lie in the survey area. The date ranges of the keyed tile and pottery indicate occupation from the 2nd to the 4th century.
