Summary. A field evaluation was carried out in advance of proposed housing on a 0.25ha-site adjacent to St Peter and St Paul's churchyard, St Osyth, Essex. Approximately 10% of the site was examined, revealing a late Bronze Age or early Iron Age ditch, traces of a medieval clay floor and medieval and later pits. Residual Roman and Saxon pottery were also recovered from the site.
