Summary.
This report describes the results from two boreholes and a pit dug by engineers to test ground conditions in advance of a proposed extension to the east side of the vestry at St Botolph's Church. It seems likely that relatively modern deposits occupy Borehole 1 up to 1.2m, and Borehole 2 up to 2.2m, deposits of any archaeological value then extend up to 2.7 in BH1 and as far as 4.4 in BH2. Only one find of significance was produced: a piece of undateable leather.
