Summary. The site lies 40m from the Roman North Gate, and is within the Roman walled town. A small evaluation trench in the rear yard of the property revealed a Roman tessellated pavement at a depth of 1.1m. The pavement extended beyond the limits of excavation to the south and east, and a short stretch of intact wall foundation marked its northern extent. The western part of the pavement was cut by a drainage channel constructed entirely of Roman building materials.
