Summary. Three trial-trenches were excavated at 23 St Julian Grove, Colchester, Essex in an archaeological evaluation, during which silty deposits containing peg-tile to a depth of 2m were observed. This is interpreted as being hillwash, which has accumulated over the centuries. No features relating to St Botolph's priory were observed.
