Summary. An archaeological watching brief was carried out to the rear of 60-66 East Street during groundworks for new dwellings. The groundworks did not expose any archaeological features of particular note. It was predicted that there may have been medieval occupation here, perhaps outbuildings to the medieval building at 60-66 East Street or even a precursor to it. However, no evidence of this was observed.
