Summary. An archaeological evaluation at the EDF Energy site, Osborne Street, Colchester, Essex revealed significant deposits of medieval and later date, including foundations and a wood-lined drain. Roman remains probably survive in the northern half of the site, but were below the depth to which it was possible to excavate. However, a quantity of Roman finds was recovered in later levels as residual material.
