Summary.
A programme of historic building recording was carried out by Colchester Archaeological Trust on a complex of buildings at the Arena Leisure Centre, Circular Road East, Colchester, Essex in October 2015. The complex was formerly one of eight purpose-built post-World War 2 NAAFI clubs and it was opened in 1947 to serve Colchester Garrison. The NAAFI club closed in 1961 and was reopened as the Arena Club. Although much altered internally, the complex has, overall, retained its plan form.
