Summary. An archaeological excavation and watching brief were carried out at 27 Elianore Road, Colchester, Essex in advance of the construction of a two-storey extension to the rear of the property. Groundworks revealed that the garden had been significantly landscaped/terraced, probably when the housing estate was built in the 1930s and, despite being located in an area of known Late Iron Age and Roman activity, no significant archaeological features or finds were identified.
