Summary. An archaeological evaluation by trial-trenching (one trial-trench) was carried out on land adjacent to 'Almaro', off Jack's Lane, Little Canfield, Essex in advance of the construction of a new detached dwelling. Despite being located 100-300m to the south/south-east of known prehistoric activity and a medieval (12th- to 13th-century) multi-phased field system and settlement, no significant archaeological remains were observed.
