Summary. An archaeological evaluation (five trial-trenches) was carried out at land to the rear of Windy Ridge, Colne Road, Bures Hamlet, Essex in advance of the construction of nine new detached dwellings. The evaluation revealed four undated ditches, a probable post-medieval ditch and an undated natural feature/treethrow.
