Summary. Archaeological monitoring and recording were carried out on land to the north-east of Granta Cottages, Newmarket Road, Great Chesterford, Essex during the construction of a residential dwelling with associated access and landscaping. Monitoring was specifically carried out on all groundworks within the area od the scheduled 4th-century Roman walled town. No significant archaeological remains were revealed.
