Summary. Archaeological monitoring was carried out at Blue Barn Farm, Elmstead Market, Essex during groundworks associated with the construction of an access road, services and the removal of contaminated soil from an old pond. Despite being located in an area of cropmarks and close to a number of medieval field boundaries identified during an earlier archaeological evaluation, monitoring revealed no significant archaeological remains.
