Summary. An archaeological evaluation (one trench-trench) was undertaken on land at Colchester Zoo, Maldon Road, Stanway in advance of the construction of a new public toilet block 'Tiger Toilet'. Located close to the nationally important Late Iron Age and Roman sites at Gosbecks and Stanway, evaluation revealed an undated pit or ditch and an undated ditch or natural channel.
