Summary. An archaeological evaluation (one trial-trench) was undertaken at St. Benedict’s Catholic Secondary School, Norman Way, Colchester, Essex in advance of the construction of a new classroom, ancillary accommodation and associated groundworks. Five pits, one of Roman date, another of post-medieval date, and the rest undatable, were revealed during the evaluation.
