Summary. Archaeological monitoring was carried out at 25 Church Street, Lavenham, Suffolk during groundworks for a single-storey rear extension. A wall foundation which formed the remains of one of series of outbuildings previously located to the rear of the property was recorded. Two pits were also uncovered. The first pit was of modern date, while the second was post-medieval or modern in date. The latter of these pits yielded a small assemblage of Roman building materials, indicating that the remains of a Roman villa may lie nearby.
