Summary. Archaeological monitoring was carried out at Tides Reach, 92 Fairhaven Avenue, West Mersea, Colchester, Essex, during groundworks for an extension. The site lies in a known area of Roman occupation and medieval remains associated with the church and priory are also present in the vicinity. Despite lying in an archaeologically-sensitive area, only a modern pit was observed.
