Summary. An archaeological evaluation (one trial-trench) was carried out on land to the rear of Oasis, Stanway Green, Colchester, Essex in advance of the construction of a new singlestorey dwelling with attached garage. The site lies near Gryme' s Dyke, one of a series of earthworks which define the Late Iron Age oppidum of Camulodunum, and north of the Late Iron Age and Roman complex at Gosbecks. A single pit was uncovered but did not yield any dating evidence, and so its relationship to other archaeological deposits in the area is unclear.
