Summary.
An archaeological evaluation (twenty four linear trial-trenches) was carried out at Temple Lane, Silver End, in advance of a planning application. The site is close to ring-shaped cropmarks and the Environment Agency national lidar survey had recorded possible features within the site. Twenty-nine features were uncovered: two small pits, four large pits and a ditch all postmedieval- to-modern in date, an undated ditch and twenty-one natural features.
