Summary. Archaeological monitoring was carried out at 30 Gainsborough Road, Colchester, Essex, during groundworks for a two-storey side extension. It is located on a site known as the Prettygate Junction, where a number of dykes which defined the Late Iron Age oppidum of Camulodunum converge. No evidence of the dykes was observed in the groundworks but substantial deposits of modern infill were encountered, likely associated with the development of the current housing estate in the second half of the 20th century.
