Summary. Archaeological monitoring was carried out at 19 Queens Road, Colchester, Essex during groundworks for a new rear extension. Located close to an area where Roman cremations have been found in the past, the only features exposed by the groundworks were concrete foundations from demolished structures and a large modern pit filled with broken flower pots and other garden waste.
