Summary.
Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out at Berechurch Dyke, DTE East, Colchester Training Area, Cherry Tree Lane, Colchester, Essex during the clearance of a tree which had blown over in a storm. Berechurch Dyke is a scheduled monument (HA 1019968) and archaeological monitoring was undertaken to record damage caused to the dyke by the fallen tree (a tree throw 5.5m by 2.5m and 0.8-1m deep), and to ensure that the removal of the
tree did not impact the monument any further.
