Summary. An archaeological evaluation (five trial-trenches) was carried out on land east of Warehouse Villas, Stebbing Road, Stebbing, Essex, in advance of the construction of seventeen new dwellings and their associated groundworks. Despite lying on the eastern fringe of the historic village of Stebbing, archaeological remains on site amounted to the vestiges of a post-medieval pond.
