Summary. Archaeological monitoring took place at Rivers Hall Farm, land west of Boxted Mill, Boxted, Essex during groundworks for the construction of six new foot drains and two large scrape areas to create shallow depressions to seasonally hold water for wildlife. The development site is located in the midst of cropmark complexes indicating the presence of Bronze Age round barrows or Iron Age enclosures. Despite lying in an archaeologically sensitive area, however, no archaeological features or material were encountered.
