Summary. An archaeological evaluation (two trial-trenches) was carried out on land adjacent to 3 Rookery Lane, Great Totham, Essex, in advance of the construction of two new bungalows. The site lies in an area given over to brick and tile production during the 19th and early 20th centuries and is within numerous cropmark complexes. Excavations at the site uncovered a modern pit and an undated pit or natural feature.
