Summary. An archaeological evaluation (four trial-trenches) was carried out on land at 83 Chapel Hill, Halstead, Essex, in advance of the construction of five new dwellings. Despite being located on the edge of the post-medieval town of Halstead which has medieval origins, there were no significant archaeological remains.
