Summary.
Archaeological monitoring was carried out at 34 Yorick Road in West Mersea ahead of the construction of a new two-storey dwelling and associated groundworks. The site lies near to a Roman mausoleum and brick tomb. An area was reduced within the footprint of the dwelling, as well as a small soakaway. No archaeological features or material were encountered.
