Summary. Archaeological monitoring was carried out at 129 High Street, Brentwood, Essex during groundworks for extensions to the current building. Located within the medieval town, the property is Grade II listed and dates from the early 18th-century. Groundworks revealed the remains of a brick foundation to the rear of the property likely associated with outbuildings shown on early Ordnance Survey maps. The only other feature present was a small tree-throw.
